Robert A. Levine is the founder and CEO of RAL. Since the beginning in 1982, Mr. Levine has grown the firm to include five affiliate companies and a skilled staff. RAL coordinates and oversees every facet of the development of luxury residential, resort and commercial properties nationwide, from financing and design to construction and property management.
A renowned developer and graduate Planner/Architect, Mr. Levine has been responsible for the development of more than 100 luxury residential, hotel and mixed-use projects throughout the country totaling in the hundreds of millions of dollars in project valuations.
Vincent Cangelosi
Managing Director Design & Development
Vince Cangelosi directs both the design and marketing efforts of millions of square feet spanning a broad range of development types. His portfolio of work includes new and adaptive reuse residential communities, large resort properties, private residences as well as regional retail centers. His expertise in innovative design and knowledge of construction technologies has resulted in universally successful developments in the highly competitive New York market and throughout the country. Vince received his formal training at the City College of New York School of Architecture. His education also includes studies in Urban Planning and Preservation in association with the Polytechnic Institute of Milan, Italy. Vince is a practicing architect and member of the American Institute of Architects and maintains active registration in New York, Pennsylvania, Colorado, and Connecticut.
Spencer Levine
President
Spencer Levine oversees RAL’s current and upcoming projects and is responsible for project and construction management. Spencer focuses on liaising between the design and construction teams to coordinate and deliver projects for RAL and 3rd party accounts. Spencer has been responsible for the management and coordination of more than three million square feet of mixed-use space including residential, commercial and hospitality properties throughout the United States and Caribbean. Spencer holds a Master’s degree in landscape architecture from the Harvard University Graduate School of Design, where he concentrated in urban planning and public park design and a BS in landscape architecture from Cornell University where he concentrated in construction documentation and specifications. Spencer currently holds a landscape architecture license in Connecticut and Pennsylvania.
Joshua Wein
Managing Director
Joshua Wein is responsible for property acquisitions, site valuation, financial modeling, and monitoring and managing project expenses. He is also intimately involved in the planning of RAL’s web-based marketing efforts and other innovative marketing campaigns. Since joining RAL in 2006, Josh has managed the underwriting, financing, rezoning and requisition process for over five million square feet of development throughout the United States and the Caribbean. He is also involved in the business and financing structure of ongoing developments and is responsible for interfacing with partners, lenders, elected officials and community members on new and existing properties. Josh holds a BS in Information Technology and Management and a minor in Entrepreneurship and Emerging Enterprises. He received a professional certificate from New York University in Real Estate Finance & Investments and is also a New York State licensed real estate broker.
Stuart Taft
Managing Partner
Stuart Taft manages RAL’s acquisition, leasing and finance teams. Since joining RAL in 2001 Mr. Taft has been responsible for the acquisition and financing of developments totaling over 6 million square feet and $2.5 billion dollars. His transactions have included a wide variety of projects ranging from luxury residential condominium towers to affordable multifamily rental properties, inner city tech offices to beach and mountain ski resorts, new developments to conversions, gateway US cities to secluded Caribbean beaches. His responsibilities at RAL include the review, structuring and execution of all real estate and financial transactions including the acquisition, financing and divestiture of properties, project capitalization, joint ventures and development agreements. Mr. Taft is also responsible for all office and retail leasing in RAL’s property portfolio. Mr. Taft has over 30 years of real estate experience including prior positions as Director of Real Estate Development for the NASDAQ listed web-hosting company Globix Corporation, Vice President of Real Estate Portfolio Management for The Chase Manhattan Bank, Retail Property Manager for The Rouse Organization at South Street Seaport and Real Estate Associate for the Investment and Merchant Banking Group of The Tribeca Corporation. He holds a master's degree in Real Estate Investment and Development from New York University and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the State University of New York at Albany. Mr. Taft is also a licensed real estate broker in New York.

Jerry Gallo
Director of Architecture
Jerry Gallo oversees architectural production, manages staff, and assists in the design and development of new projects. Mr. Gallo brings experience from small architectural firms specializing in luxury residential renovations and new construction in both Long Island and New York City. He earned his Bachelor of Architecture degree from the New York Institute of Technology.
David Sorenson
Director of Architecture Hospitality Group Manager
David Sorenson oversees development for both new and operating hotel and residential ventures. Prior to joining RAL, David was a project architect and project manager at the Ivins Design Group in Colorado where he worked on large-scale projects. Earlier in his career, David was a project manager at Keith Kennedy Architecture in Idaho where he managed the development of several commercial and residential buildings from conception through completion. He earned a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Kansas State University. He is NCARB certified and currently licensed in Idaho, Colorado, New York, Florida, New Jersey, and Puerto Rico and is an active member of the American Institute of Architects.
Douglas Eisenstein
General Counsel Project Director
Douglas Eisenstein coordinates and manages the development of new projects. Doug recently led the project management team of a $200 million hospitality facility – an indoor water park and hotel – in upstate New York. This unique, complex project involved the coordination of multiple construction managers and specialty trades. He has also been an integral member of RAL’s project management team for its residential, hospitality, and office developments in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Philadelphia, and the Caribbean.
As an attorney with more than twenty-five years of experience, Doug also serves as RAL’s general counsel and leads its insurance and risk management team to employ pragmatic and cost-effective solutions for each project. He is responsible to coordinate and liaise with local and state officials, review and draft development agreements, trade and supply contracts, and other project documents. Doug is a proud graduate of the University of Florida and Brooklyn Law School and is licensed to practice law in New York.

Leah Volpe
Compliance Officer
Leah Volpe oversees the accounting for RAL Companies and Affiliates where she is responsible for monitoring and managing project expenses and conducting internal and external audits. Prior to joining RAL, Leah was an external auditor of fortune 500 companies at PwC. Leah is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), licensed in New York and Florida, and holds a Master’s degree in Accounting, and a BS Degree in Accounting & Finance from Florida State University.
